 Products that Make a Difference
Gray Water Systems
The Pontos product utilizes used (grey) bath and shower water and recycles this biologically to produce clean water for application in toilet flushing, irrigation, laundry and other applications. The product range is targeted at both the family residential home and the larger residential and commercial development complexes, including hotels and game lodges, particularly in instances where water availability, water costs and water restrictions are key issues. The addition of a Pontos recycling plant adds financial value to the home or establishment in several ways: The plant is a capital investment, and the cost will be recovered in the resale value (water saving devices may well become a mandatory item in future years), Growing and maintaining beautiful lawns and gardens, Water saving and hence water cost savings. To the best of our knowledge, the Pontos AquaCycle is the only locally available packaged recycling plant that produces water that is clean, clear, completely odourless, and safe to use for applications such as toilet flush and above ground irrigation and washing applications. Unlike conventional greywater recycling products, the Pontos provides clean recycled water on demand, (and not only when the collection tank is full). The products are easy to install, can be installed above ground, and are aesthetically pleasing. The Pontos can also be configured seamlessly with external water storage tanks and rainwater tanks in various ways - to ensure optimal re-use of water resources in an integrated manner. We offer products with recycling capacities of 600 litres to over 45,000 litres per day. The product is chemical free, low maintenance, and produces a water quality that conforms to EU Directive 76/160/EWG for Recreational Water. The benefit is that by using the grey water a second time, homeowners/proprietors can increase their water availability by up to 50%. This translates to maintaining their investment in their gardens, maintaining their lifestyles that are dependent on water, and also benefiting from monthly financial savings due to reduced fresh water usage and reduced waste water charges. The Pontos products are thoroughly engineered, manufactured and tested by Hansgrohe / Pontos in Germany, and represents one of the few products on the market that cleans the grey water to a quality suitable for re-use in spray irrigation, laundry, and other washing applications where human contact with the recycled water is unavoidable. Product price includes: · detailed design proposal with water harvest and application calculations · assist your designer/architect with location and pipe reticulation design · site visits during the building to ensure the preparation plumbing is being done to spec · installation and commissioning · post-installation site visits to ensure system operating to spec · warrantee of 2 years on all components, 5 years on containers · full support and backup service available With each client, Akwadoc will assist the architect, builders and client with solution design (piping, reticulation, specification and plans), and also provide payback and water balancing calculations where required. We encourage planning for the PONTOS water recycling solution up front with the building/house planning and design - so that grey water piping (sources) are separated from soil pipes, and that the relevant recycled water reticulation is planned so that collection of source water and reuse of the recycled water is optimised. Features Broad range of applicability: The AquaCycle® has a modular design. It can be ideally adapted to individual water consumption and requirements: Through appropriate dimensioning of the pre-filtering module, main recycling module and clarified water storage tank, a potential recycling capacity of between 600 and 10,000 litres per day can be achieved. The system can also be supplied with rainwater cistern adapters. Consistently high water quality The patented 4-phase recycling with UV-sterilization provides consistently high water quality in accordance with the hygienic/microbiological requirements of the EU directive on the quality of bathing water of 08.12.1975 and table 3 of the fbr info sheet H 201 of January 2005. This statement is based on samples taken over a period of more than 8 years. This is certified by studies of independent institutes. Compact construction, low space requirements: The exact space requirements are based on general requirements and the size of the system. Space of between 0.75 and 1m² can be assumed per m3 of daily cleaning capacity. Low installation effort: Minimum installation effort. A simple specification sheet for architects, designers and builders details the simple installation requirements of installation space, plumbing for supply of fresh water feed, grey water in, clarified water out, and electricity connection. Automatic and high reliability operation: The plants are self-cleaning, centrally controlled and fully automatic in operation. The tried and tested pump systems ensures trouble-free operation including fully automatic sediment removal and filter recirculation. Chemical free: Biological-mechanical cleaning does not require chemicals. It is quiet and odourless. As it is a closed system, no air humidity escapes into the room. Operating costs: Thanks to durable components, low energy costs and dispensing with chemicals, low operating costs of 1-1.2kWh/m3 are ensured. Aesthetics: The products are aesthetically pleasing, and the residential unit is no larger than a large double door fridge/freezer, and as quiet as a modern automatic dishwasher. The unit easily finds a place in a basement, store-room or garage.
